There are many to cross train for long distance running but training with a bike offers lots of advantages over other types of cross training. The improvement in cardiovascular fitness along with building muscle strength and can provide a nice break from regular running workouts.

It’s really hard to get motivated to workout during the holidays. All the food, all the parties, all the treats make it difficult to focus on anything but being festive. But I still have a Ironman Triathlon to train for and to be perfectly honest I have been slacking this month.
The cold weather has finally arrived. As you can imagine, getting any kind of motivation to go outside and train in -3°C (26°F) temperatures is about as difficult as opening a tin of beans with a teaspoon. But, the clock is ticking and with just one month until my serious training kicks in, it is time to get off my butt… or on it! I’ve actually become a little fixated with the Cascade exercise bike
